As the year draws to a close, we feel a quiet sense of accomplishment here at Circular Computing. 2025 has been a year defined by collaboration, innovation and real progress in sustainable IT. The key moments we’ve shared below have truly shaped our journey and reinforced our identity.
We introduced our new brand line: “We go beyond.” This simple phrase reflects a strong, heartfelt commitment to excellence, right from our world leading remanufacturing facility to the unmatched quality of every device that leaves our door.
Impact beyond the product
The most meaningful measure of our progress this year was the positive impact felt far beyond the laptop estate. It was a source of great pride to celebrate the completion of our first clean water project with charity: water in Gbamusu, Sierra Leone. This achievement, providing a vital resource to a community, is a powerful and very human reminder of how a commitment to the circular economy can support wellbeing.
Closer to home, we were deeply proud to help embed sustainable procurement within the UK public sector. Our work with Atos on Defra’s £150 million transformation programme involved the supply of up to 34,000 sustainable laptops. This marks a pivotal moment for the circular economy.
The measure of excellence
Our dedication to quality and ethical practice was validated with significant recognition this year.
First and foremost, our facilities demonstrated the very highest standards. Audits conducted by The Salvation Army Trading Company (SATCoL), at both our UK and UAE facilities confirmed that we exceeded global compliance standards. Our UAE facility was notably praised as one of the most well organised and ethically managed, which is a true testament to governance of our board and senior management team.
A defining closing highlight of 2025 was the establishment of our strategic partnership with Certus Erasure. This collaboration has elevated the security benchmark across both our refurbishing and remanufacturing operations, helping to ensure that sensitive data is thoroughly and reliably erased from every device we process.
Our dedication to quality was reflected in a series of industry accolades:
- CRN Awards: We were honoured to be named Sustainability Champion.
- CRN Awards: Our Founder & CEO, Rod Neale, was recognised as a deserving Sustainability Unsung Hero.
- PEA Awards: We secured the Innovator category win.
We were also very pleased to be named finalists across a broad spectrum of awards. These included shortlisting for Circular Company and Net Zero Project of the Year at next year’s CRN Awards, and recognition for our best-in-class sustainable packaging at the PCR Awards, as well as further shortlisting at the Portsmouth Business Awards and the Computing Digital Technology Leaders Awards.
Broadening our global reach
Our conviction that high quality remanufacturing is the future of IT took us across the nation and around the world. We partnered and worked with Qrent to expand sustainable laptop access across Africa.
We focused on advancing the conversation around sustainable adoption:
- We launched our video podcast series, ‘Sustainable IT: In Conversation,’ featuring leading industry voices to discuss trends, legislation and adoption.
- We showcased our approach at key industry events, including BETT UK 2025 (with Exertis UK), the Eolas Digital Government Conference (with GreenIT), and Procurex Ireland 2025, where we helped to drive Ireland’s green procurement agenda.
- Our collaboration extended to focused thought leadership with our partners. We joined Atos’ AI Accelerator masterclass, empowering SMEs to scale alongside major MSPs. We also hosted a series of informative webinars, including one with GreenIT on how organisations can sustainably approach the Windows 11 transition, another on the Irish government’s adoption of remanufactured laptops, addressing key concerns like security, updates, longevity, and warranty, and a discussion with Atos and Nexthink on how data driven EUC strategies are transforming end user compute.
- Our message reached a wider audience through features in major publications: TechRound’s Sustainability60, Procurement Magazine, London Daily News, IT Channel Oxygen and Technology Reseller Magazine.
