Chief Scientific Adviser for DIT Applauds Remanufacturing Kitemark

Mike Short, Chief Scientific Adviser for the Department of International Trade and Industry, HM Government, takes a view on the improved attitude towards sustainability in life and business, and how critical it is to recycle and protect our resources.

As Mike Short himself states:

“We only have one planet and our resources are very precious, it’s very important to therefore recycle wherever we can, it’s also very important to widen the choice in IT available to all.”

Technology has an increased responsibility to deliver change. Short addresses the importance of standards and certification working together with innovation in businesses:

“I think some areas of policy can lead the way, but also industry initiatives and innovation can lead the way, so I think it’s good to see a strong blend of policy and innovation and business leadership in this area.”

This interview was part of a longer programme called ‘Sustainable Tech: the future reimagined’, which you can watch here.
