A Step Towards a Greener Future
At Circular Computing, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Our nomination for the PCR Awards is a testament to our efforts to create a more sustainable world through eco-friendly packaging solutions. The PCR Awards celebrate the achievements of companies in the UK PC and Tech sector, from distributors and resellers to retailers and vendors. Being recognised in such a competitive field highlights our leadership and dedication to environmental stewardship.
Our Journey to Sustainable Packaging
Driven by our sustainability goals, we undertook a challenging project to overhaul our laptop packaging. While our previous packaging was visually appealing and well-received, we knew more could be done to align with our eco-friendly principles. The task was formidable: redesigning our retail packaging to be 100% biodegradable, crafted from recycled materials, and fully recyclable. This required sourcing and collaboration with suppliers who shared our commitment to sustainability, ruling out many options from the start.
After intensive research and months of effort, we at Circular Computing developed biodegradable packaging featuring a recycled cardboard box lined with recycled paper and using a limited amount of washable, environmentally friendly paint. This innovative solution aligns with our commitment to sustainability and ethical practices.
Strategic and Sustainable Sourcing
Our primary distribution centre in the UAE, sources from suppliers in Guangzhou to minimise freight distances and reduce our carbon footprint (Note: We are a Carbon Neutral Plus company, so of course any carbon footprint is offset through accredited schemes). We always order in bulk to further cut down on emissions, ensuring our operations are as green as possible. This reflects our transparency and commitment to making a positive environmental difference.

Winning this award would of course be a testament to Circular Computing’s commitment to pioneering sustainable practices in the IT industry. It would affirm the pride we take in leading by example, demonstrating how innovative thinking can drive meaningful environmental impact. Such recognition would highlight our achievements and serve as a powerful endorsement of our vision for a more sustainable future, inspiring others to follow our lead. We cannot affect this outcome but it is great that the judges have recognised our effort and the role we play in the industry.
The PCR Awards ceremony will be held at The Brewery, London on Wednesday, 9 October, celebrating the successes of the past year. We are honoured to be shortlisted for this category in this esteemed event and look forward to continuing our mission to make a significant environmental difference through sustainable practices.
